Richard Madeley has once again been slammed by Good Morning Britain fans over his interview conduct.
The 67-year-old host and his co-star Susanna Reid had both been interviewing the parents of Grace O’Malley Kumar who was stabbed to death in the Nottingham knife attack, in June last year. The 19-year-old fought Valdo Calocane after he’d attacked her friend Barnaby Webber and they both sadly lost their lives.
Grace’s parents appeared on the ITV breakfast programme to discuss the Hainault, London, stabbings where a 14-year-old sadly lost their life on Tuesday (April 30). Due to the sensitive nature of the subject, fans were apprehensive from the offset that Richard wasn’t the man for the job.

One fan on X, formerly known as Twitter aired early on: “Let’s see if Richard asks them questions that don’t need to be asked, he always asks the most inappropriate things in an attempt to get shocking or grim details.”
During the interview, it was mentioned that Grace’s parents, along with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, were calling for Grace to be awarded with the George Cross honour. They believed she was deserving after she’d stepped in to defend her friend.
Her father, Dr Sanjoy Kumar, and her mother, Sinead O’Malley, had responded about the prospect of the award in a dignified manner, describing the honour as “the greatest heroism or of the most conspicuous courage in circumstances of extreme danger”.
It was evident to viewers watching at home that Grace’s parents had wanted to swiftly move on to sympathise with those who were now involved in the aftermath of the Hainault, London, attack. However, it seemed that Richard was continuing to probe about the award.
One person fumed: “Richard asking if a medal would make parents feel better about their daughter being killed,” they also added a rolling eyes emoji to finish. Another fumed: “Stop f***ing going on about George Cross they already told you their answer you idiots.”
Others commented: “Stop interrupting people Richard Madeley!” and: “Madeley just be grateful in today’s modern world we have the off button and dozens of other channels we can choose from.”
Meanwhile, things turned heated when Richard was later joined by MP Kemi Badenoch’s to discuss the legislation in place to prevent knife attacks from happening across the UK and the government’s proposals to clamp down on the horrific incidents.
It swiftly turned into a war of words when the former This Morning host called out the MP’s choice of words. She responded to his earlier question seemingly describing the sword attack as a “distraction”, which Richard told her he thought was “odd”.
Kemi accused Richard of mincing her words as she fumed: “I’ve answered all of your questions and you’ve picked up on one or two things and taken them out of context.”
