Coronation Street fans are certain Nathan Curtis is related to a Weatherfield resident.
The soap villain (Christopher Harper) makes his return next week after seven years away. Fans will recall the paedo abused and groomed Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) – and was sent to prison for his crimes.
But it is Bethany who first spots him at the reconstruction of missing teenager Lauren Bolton’s last known movements. Bethany’s mind is thrown into overdrive, having initially thought Nathan was behind bars.

However, she discovers he was released from prison some time ago and is working on a building site nearby and instantly becomes a suspect in the missing Lauren Bolton case.
Knowing his history, and his appetite for young girls, Bethany soon hits on the idea that Nathan could be behind Lauren’s suspected murder. Fans will recall that troubled youngster Lauren (Cait Fitton) went missing last month.
Roy Cropper was the last known person to see her alive and the search for Lauren then became a murder inquiry. And a slew of residents have left fans suspicious, including Joel Deering and Roy – who has since been arrested.
However, in what would be a huge twist, fans reckon soap baddie Nathan could be secretly related to someone on the cobbles: Joel. The character rocked up earlier this year and has become Dee-Dee Bailey’s love interest.
Over on an EastEnders Facebook fan page, one person said: “I wonder if Joel could be related to Nathan.” Someone else added: “Definitely I think … pretty certain he has something to do with Lauren’s disappearance.”
A third chimed in and penned: “I’ve said this all along I think they brothers and he’s doing the work for him.” Another viewer chimed in and penned: “Brother I’m guessing, him and Nathan both responsible for Lauren missing.”
In a recent interview, Nathan actor Chris asked about his character’s motives for returning to Weatherfield. He said: “I think he knows it’s inevitable, it’s a small world and they’re going to come across each other. He knows the power is with him, he knows that she’s more frightened of him than he needs to be of her.”
The actor also hinted that Nathan could be involved in Lauren’s murder. He shared: “All the signs are there, the similarities in Lauren’s behaviour before she disappeared, her vulnerability, all really ring bells with what Bethany went through.”
