Saturday Morning’s James Martin says guest will ‘never be invited back’ onto ITV show

James Martin declared that one guest won’t be returning to Saturday Morning.

The 51-year-old TV chef has hosted ITV’s cooking show Saturday Morning since 2017, where he’s joined by a mix of fellow chefs and celeb guests. But it looks like one particular face won’t be coming back after a series of blunders.

On the episode aired on Saturday 27 April, James was joined by chefs Kenny Atkinson, Asma Khan, and Glynn Purnell. Loose Women star Linda Robson also popped in to sample the food in the studio.

However, Glynn might not be getting a callback anytime soon. The head chef at Purnell’s restaurant in Birmingham was preparing a surf and turf dish, featuring mussels and short rib beef, when he lost his spoons.

Unfortunately, he discovered that the spoons had disappeared into the sauce he was preparing. In the midst of the culinary chaos, Glynn quipped: “I’ve lost a spoon in there chef but I’m sure we’ll dig it out eventually,” before realising yet another spoon had taken a dive.

The TV chef jokingly told viewers it would be Glynn’s “last time” in the studio

“That one’s gone in there again chef, want to grab that one out for me,” he joked, reports the Mirror. James Martin and Glynn Purnell had viewers in stitches, leading James to joke: “This is Glynn Purnell – this is the first and the last time you’ll see him.”

Despite the jest, it was clear the pair were just having a laugh as they continued cooking, with James even praising Glynn’s dish as delicious. Fans were quick to express their enjoyment on social media.

In other news, James recently shared a health update following his cancer diagnosis on his face last year. On ITV’s Lorraine, he confirmed he’s doing well, saying: “Yes, the stitches have fallen out, as you know, the last time you were on, I was in the middle of operations. As we speak, the stitches have fallen out of my body at the moment and that’s all clear, onwards and upwards! ” Lorraine responded with heartfelt relief: “I’m really pleased, it’s great great news! “.
