BBC Breakfast star Carol Kirkwood has confirmed her absence from the show.
The beloved 61-year-old forecaster has been missing from the BBC show over the last few days. She has been replaced on the programme by her co-star Matt Taylor.
But any fans worried about her whereabouts will have been reassured on Tuesday (May 7) as she revealed she was simply taking some time off. The meteorologist has been soaking up the sun on holiday in Cornwall.

Updating fans on her travels, she wrote on X: “Just visited Tresco (Isles of Scilly). @Hurtiagents To call it stunning doesn’t do it justice. Weather beautiful. Fell in love with the red squirrels.”
She shared a snap of her stunning view, a stony beach, and explained that she’d decided to sail to the British island rather than fly. Fans were thrilled that she was having a good time, with one writing: “Oh my! It looks stunning and is instantly on my ‘to do’ list, especially with the red squirrels!”
Another said: “Have a lovely time Carol take care”. A third added “Beautiful Carol, enjoy your break”.
It comes after the star sparked concerns for health as she appeared to be struck down by a nasty cold on air. One fan wrote: “@BBCBreakfast someone please give Carol a throat sweet, she sounds terrible.”
A second added: “Good morning. You sounded a little croaky this morning. Hope you OK.” A third commented: “Do you have a bit of a cold there Carol.”
Another joked: “Carol sounds like she’s been on a mad one all weekend. This woman needs a Lemsip.” Carol had already recognised that her voice was sounding “ropey”.
