The Chase’s Bradley Walsh scolds ‘nervous’ player and says ‘no’ – but they have last laugh

The Chase’s Bradley Walsh was not too impressed by a “nervous” player’s blunder.

The hit ITV gameshow was back on TV screens on Thursday (May 9) as telly legend Bradley Walsh welcomed four new quizzers. As fans tuned in, he introduced contestants Stan, Joe, Prathi and June before they battled it out to take home the all-important cash prize.

This week the quartet were up against Paul Sinha, also known as The Sinnerman, who made sure to bring his A-game against the wise quizzers. But things took an awkward turn when it was player Joe’s turn.

Bradley said: “Okay, next to face the Chase, it’s Joe.” As he joined Bradley to get ready to play his cash-builder, it seemed Joe’s nerves got the better of him.

The player admitted he was ‘nervous’

He said to Bradley without thinking: “Welcome Brad,” and the host immediately called him out on his awkward error. Corrie star Bradley quickly fired back: “No, I say that, I say welcome!” as the team laughed.

He quizzed Joe: “Are you nervous?” Laughing, player Joe replied: “Yeah.” Bradley then swiped jokingly: “I can tell!” before trying to swiftly move on.

Bradley called out the player on his blunder

But it appeared Joe had the last laugh, as he ended up winning £6,000 in the cash-builder and managed to storm through his questions against Paul, bagging a spot in the Final Chase.

Joe joined first player Stan in the Final Chase, who secured a huge £7,000. The third player Prathi was sadly caught and booted from the show – meaning final player June had the pressure of joining the boys.

Brad was on hand to host the ITV show

She decided to take a minus offer of a grand, meaning the team’s earnings went from £13,000 down to £12,000 – but she managed to make it through her round.

During the Final Chase, the team managed to get 20 questions correct. And it seemed like it was their lucky day, as thanks to five push-backs, they managed to beat the Chaser – who scored only 14 points.
