Good Morning Britain presenter Andi Peters has praised Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley for keeping This Morning afloat.
The 53-year-old ITV star reckons the pair, who started hosting the daytime show in March, have “settled the ship” following all of the dramas surrounding the show in recent times. Andi, who can also be seen on Lorraine, spoke to Daily Star at the BAFTA TV Awards in London on Sunday (May 12).
Asked he how he thought Ben and Cat were doing, he said: “Ben and Cat are doing an amazing job for two people that have not worked together before. They’ve really settled the ship and made it feel like something we’ve all been with for a long time.”

Asked about his favourite part of This Morning, which he occasionally sits in on, he picked working with co-host Rochelle Humes. And all the food he gets to eat on set.
He added: “Rochelle is such a professional. I would work with her any day. Working with Rochelle and getting to eat two or three food items in an episode, because you literally just turn up and eat”.
It’s no secret that This Morning has been the centre of several scandals over the last couple of years. Perhaps the biggest of them all came in May last year when former host Phillip Schofield admitted to having an affair with a younger male colleague on the show.
He left the show and ITV altogether, apologising for the “unwise, but not illegal” relationship, which occurred when he was still married to his wife of over 30 years, Stephanie Lowe. Then came the exit of Holly Willoughby, who left the show for the sake of her family in September after an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her.
Ben said: “For the last ten years, I’ve been waking up with our ITV daytime audience on GMB and I now look forward to spending time with Cat, welcoming the viewers home after the school run or from their early morning routines, with a cup of tea and a mix of everything that makes This Morning so loved.”
Cat added: “Deeley added: “This Morning is a national institution. Whenever it’s on, it’s like having your friends over – funny, smart, silly, heartfelt, informative and joyful – like all the greatest friendships!
“This Morning is and always will be the viewer’s show. Ben and I both know how much people love it, and with the help of an amazing team of people, we’re going to do our best to take care of it.”
