Forgotten BGT star’s major weight loss transformation after £22,000 operation

Britain’s Got Talent star Rosie O’Sullivan looks almost unrecognisable from her time on the ITV show.

The singer wowed fans with her incredible musical talents 11 years ago, so much so that she went on to reach the semi-finals back in 2013. But it’s fair to say she looks completely different now after showcasing the jaw-dropping 17st weight loss.

After she shot to fame on the show, the 30-year-old decided to turn her life around with a complete health transformation. She went under the knife for gastric sleeve and forked out £20,000 for the operations.

The brunette beauty finally got the life-changing operation to pursue her dreams of stardom and plans to start a family. And it appears as though her dreams have come true after she announced she was pregnant with her first child in 2022.

Taking to Instagram with a sweet snap of her baby scan, she wrote: “We Cannot Wait To Meet You Little One, Our Hearts Are So Full Of Love, You Really Are Our Little Miracle, Sent From Above.”

The Birmingham stunner previously spoke to The Sun about her struggles with her weight and how it impacted her life. She told the publication: “When I appeared on BGT I was nearly 30 stone.

“I was hot, sweaty and struggled to walk up stairs, and the costume department had to make dresses for me as it was impossible to get trendy clothes in a size 28. I hit a real low and I told my parents I wanted weight loss surgery after seeing and advert online.

“I was active, I went to the gym and swimming, but I thought about food like an alcoholic thinks about drink, I was obsessed.” After listening to her heartache, her parents offered to pay for her to have the £5,000 operation privately and it wasn’t long before Rosie started seeing results.

The star explained that when she was in the operating theatre, doctors also cut out part of her stomach that produces the hunger hormone ghrelin to help her keep the weight off. And it’s fair to say their efforts worked, with Rose losing five stone just three months after the surgery.

She was also on a liquids only diet but had lost a total of seven by the time it was Christmas Despite doctors warning that she may not lose any more, by the time she reached her one-year anniversary post-op in April 2015, she had lost a staggering 13 stone.

After the staggering weight loss, she was left with excess skin on her back, tummy and legs which soon left her depressed that she wouldn’t be able to wear skirts or crop tops any more. The six foot one star then paid £8,000 for a tummy tuck which not only dropped another stone off her weight loss total, but also gave her a major confidence boost.

But her happiness was short-lived and went on to book in for a bi-lateral thigh reduction which saw surgeons slice her from mid-calf to knee and from knee to groin to tighten the skin and remove the excess. This time she spent a further £6,000 for the operation and also lost another stone in weight from the excess skin.

Britain’s Got Talent airs on Saturdays from 7.30pm on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
