Rylan Clark has been left raging after his mum, 71, was approached at her home about his dating life.
The TV host and radio star took to X to rant about the “uncomfortable” situation. He stated that his mum Linda was 71 and did not appreciate the encounter.
Rylan tweeted: “To the journalist that just doorstepped my mum at her house, as polite as you were, please don’t. She said you was a lovely man but she’s 71 years old and it makes me feel slightly uncomfortable.

“The answer is no. I’m not dating Rob Rinder he’s one of my closest friends. Next time tweet me. Thanks.”

This comes after rumours had circulated about the nature of his bond with Judge Rinder star Rob, who has been working with Rylan lately on a travel show. However, they have both now confirmed that it is purely platonic between the two.
Last week during the promo for their new show, the pair said their “friendship is growing into love” which resulted in tongues wagging about their friendship.

At Sunday night’s TV Baftas, Rob also confirmed what Rylan had tweeted and joked: “We aren’t a couple. It is what Rylan said, we are like a very old married couple, we row, laugh together and don’t have sex.”
Some of Rylan’s fans jumped to his defence and wrote: “Some journalists have a lot to learn about how to approach people.” A second added: “F those journos! I’ve been doorstepped before and it’s horrid. Sending love to the wonderful Linda @rylan she’s one of a kind.”

While a third penned: “That’s totally out of order to doorstep your lovely mum. Caught up on the show earlier – you and @RobbieRinder were brilliant, nice to see good friends having fun and supporting each other. And kudos to you both for walking in those heels #mates #grandtour”
A fourth posted: “Your poor mum, your private life is NONE of our business. I’ve been to Venice, Florence &Rome and have watched all 3 shows. Loved them. Your friendship with @RobbieRinder is lovely to see, 2 mates on hols. All that’s missing is a throuple with Jane Macdonald! I’d watch!”
