“He’s the kind of lad you could happily take home to your mum. He’s been in talks with bosses for weeks and is set to jet out to the villa in Majorca in the coming week or so. Right now, it’s unclear whether he is one of the OG line-up or a bombshell but he is a favourite with the casting team and is sure to make a big impression with viewers.” Daily Star has reached out to ITV for a comment.

The news comes after it was revealed ITV2 spin off Aftersun is coming back this summer. Earlier this year, fans were left disappointed when the popular companion show was rested for the first ever Love Island: All Stars season. which saw previous contestants return to the South African villa for another shot at love and Molly Smith and Tom Clare crowned winners.

However, due to the filming location being on the other side of the world, presenter Maya Jama chose to stay near the set instead of flying back to host the UK-based spin-off. Aftersun has always been a hit with fans, as it gives Maya the opportunity to interrogate evicted islanders while celebrity pals join the panel to discuss the villa’s happenings and interact with the contestants.

Therefore, fans will be overjoyed to learn that Aftersun will reportedly return for the upcoming new season. The eleventh season of Love Island is set to grace our screens next month. A fresh batch of singletons will jet off to the Spanish island of Mallorca, where the series is filmed – making it easier for host Maya to commute between Spain and the UK to fulfil her filming responsibilities.

A source revealed to publication: “Viewers didn’t love the change though and really missed Maya fronting the Sunday night spin-off, so bosses are definitely bringing it back for the regular series. Logistically, it makes sense to have it back too as Maya stayed in Cape Town for the whole of the All Stars run, whereas she will be flying back and forth between the Mallorca villa where the summer series films, and London where Aftersun records.”

Love Island is expected to return to ITV2 and ITVX next month
