Bridgerton actress Nicola Coughlan has promised “very naked” scenes in the new series.
In an interview with Radio Times, the star said: “There is one [scene] where I am very naked on camera and that was my idea, my choice. It just felt like the biggest f*** you to all the conversations surrounding my body. It felt amazingly empowering. Having now watched those scenes, I’m so proud of them.”
Coughlan also admitted that filming the saucy moments with her co-star Luke Newton was one of her favourite parts of the whole process. She admitted that it was “definitely intimidating” as “hundreds of millions of people watch the show,” which she thought was “really scary”.

However, she wasn’t afraid to get her raunch on with Newton on set: “[The sex scenes were] one of the things I enjoyed the most. Luke and I had a real hand in what we did and how it came across. Thankfully we had that physical comfort with one another, so it ended up being a really beautiful thing.”

Even Nicola surprised herself when filming the racy moments and confessed that it was “steamy” between the pair – so much so, Coughlan even asked herself “are we really doing that” while getting it on with Luke.

Coughlan has also previously addressed filming sex scenes with her co-star and confessed that the pair were “so comfortable” with each other that they would hang out naked after the cameras stopped rolling. She spoke to Teen Vogue about her off-screen antics and said that Luke “made her feel taken care of”.

“We really had each other’s backs and also then we could just have a laugh about it. Like, to the point that we were just lying under a blanket being like: ‘We’re actually chill now’,” before Newton chimed in that they “didn’t even care” that they were both naked.
Nicola cheekily quipped that they’d had “the best time” and at one point, the crew asked if the acting duo “want to get up” to which they responded “no, I’m fine, I’m comfy”.
