Netflix fans are freaking out over one seriously scary horror movie.
The 2022 thriller Barbarian “debuted at number 10 on Netflix’s most-watched movie list in 57 countries during the week of April 29 through May 5,” according to DailyMail.com. Fans on X/Twitter have been discussing the horror and many regarded the film highly.
One person said: “Barbarian (2022) is one of those movies you can legit only watch once,” while someone else said: “Barbarian is a well crafted movie that in no way sacrifices reality, believability or slowly built tension in order to tell its story.”

Another tweet read: “It is a masterclass in subtlety. Its themes are deep and complex and open to numerous interpretations upon rewatch.” At the time of the film’s release, Barbarian also won rave reviews from critics.
Ian Sandwell wrote for Digital Spy: “The joy of the movie is how it constantly wrong-foots the audience, delivering audacious swing after swing. It’d still be an excellent horror movie if you knew what was in store, but that’d be ruining the fun.”
The film follows a woman who rents a house while on the road for a job interview and stars Bill Skarsgård, Georgina Campbell and Justin Long. The main character, Tess, discovers that a man is already staying in her Airbnb, but doesn’t seem to pose a threat to her.
Turns out that the pair are being haunted by an entity called The Mother and the pair have to work together to escape the horrifying creature. They uncover disturbing secrets about the house and eventually discover why The Mother was created.
It first premiered at San Diego Comic-Con back in 2022 before a theatrical release in September that year, grossing $10 million during the first weekend. Elsewhere in Netflix news, fans have been gushing over one “mind-blowing” series released in the same year.
Fans of the drama series Inventing Anna gathered in the Netflix Bangers group on Facebook to discuss the show, which is based on the story of Anna Sorokin, who convinced New York’s elite that she was a German socialite in an attempt to scam them out of millions.
Viewers branded it “such a good watch” and “so good” while some confessed that they were “obsessed” with the show.
