Our Yorkshire Farm’s Clive Owen took part in an emotional tell-all with Christine Lampard as he opened up on his relationship regrets.
The Yorkshire shepherd came clean about his role in their marriage troubles, confessing with a heavy heart: “It was amazing and successful, I handled it very badly. It was such a change in our life and I sadly made a right mess of things basically and I had a massive part to play in our relationship ending.”
Reflecting on the impact of their TV fame, Clive admitted: “It’s a tough time for Amanda now and so I thought it was only right, I don’t do social media or any of that so I sort of disappear.”

He also tackled the chatter around their separation and their family’s future plans: “One of the things I hear is ‘poor Clive’ and I feel that isn’t right. We filmed Our Yorkshire Farm, people loved it and the plan, Amanda’s plan was we don’t own the farm but this is security.”
Clive delved into the strain of their public life and the drive behind their shared goals: “We had this plan to make it more secure as a family so that’s what drove her, it was amazing and successful.”
“I handled it very badly, it was such a change in our life and I sadly made a right mess of things and I had a massive part to play in our relationship ending, a massive part to play.”
Clive also touched upon his personal struggles during this period: “When all this went on, I was ranting and raving and drinking and carrying on.”
“It was taking her away I think, it wasn’t. She was committed and we were all committed but it seemed to eat away at me and I handled it badly and behaved badly towards her.”
“I should have been supportive and I was the completely opposite.” The farmer continued with remorse: “I really thought that I needed to say somehow that.”
Christine probed Clive about the social media backlash Amanda has faced since their split declaration.
He shared: “It has been really upsetting and Amanda is having a really tough time at the moment. I just feel that I can’t sit back and watch all this happen without saying something in her defence.”
“She’s a remarkable woman and I made a complete mess of it,” he confessed. “We got to a point where we couldn’t be together anymore.”
“If I had supported her and looked after I am sure things would have been much different.”
At this point, the father went on to reveal that their Channel 5 show did indeed cause a strain between them.
He admitted: “Oh, without a doubt, and once a wedge begins to come between you for whatever reason… we were under pressure, it was crazy.”
“It is crazy and it makes you look at life not as well as you would in normal circumstances. We got to a point where we couldn’t get along at all, and so we parted. It is very sad, but it is what it is.”
