Ant McPartlin’s ex Lisa Armstrong ‘shows support’ for Giovanni Pernice after co-star claims

Ant McPartlin’s ex and Strictly Come Dancing’s makeup artist Lisa Armstrong has thrown her support behind professional dancer Giovanni Pernice.

This comes after he refuted allegations of “threatening or abusive” behaviour during his training sessions with Amanda Abbington. The Italian dancer is said to have left the BBC dance competition, promising to vindicate his name following an internal investigation.

Lisa – who is head of makeup on the show – appears to have shown her support for him by liking a statement in which Giovanni addresses the accusations. Amanda reportedly confided in friends that Giovanni was “abrasive” during their training for the show, leading her to eventually withdraw from the competition citing “medical reasons”.

In a social media post, Giovanni penned: “To my dear fans, You will be as surprised as I am that allegations have been made about my dance teaching methods in the media this week. Of course, I reject any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour, and I look forward to clearing my name.
