Strictly’s Janette Manrara heartbroken as she announces death of ‘beautiful’ friend

Janette Manrara has been left utterly heartbroken after the tragic passing of her “beautiful friend”.

The Strictly Come Dancing sensation took to her socials to express her sorrow over the loss of her dear pal Anthony ‘TJ’ Paradise. Posting a snap of TJ with his pooch, she penned an emotional message: “Goodbye my beautiful friend,” followed by a white heart emoji.

TJ’s other half, Bobby Newbury, broke the devastating news on Instagram on May 7, revealing that TJ had lost his four-year fight with cancer. He was surrounded by his nearest and dearest when he passed away, with Bobby noting the overwhelming amount of light and love present even in such a sombre moment.

Bobby’s heartfelt post included: “If you met him even once you knew how much of an impact he had on the world around him. Nothing will ever be the same. I had 20 and a half years of love and memories and now I have a lifetime of missing you. I love you, my sweetheart.”

To which Janette replied with a message of support: “I love you Bobby. Sending all the love and light during this difficult time. May he rest in peace,”,reports the Mirror.

Earlier in the year, Janette, alongside her hubby Aljaz Skorjanec, were rocked by the death of another close friend and fellow Strictly star, Robin Windsor. The professional dancer’s untimely death at just 44 years old had previously plunged the couple into mourning, as they remembered Robin as someone “who filled the room with sunshine”.

The couple expressed their heartache: “We are so saddened by the news of Robin Windsor. He was a dear friend of ours and filled the room up with sunshine whenever he walked in. His energy and smile were infectious and we will miss him deeply.”

Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec have faced their own trials, enduring a “life-changing” year. 2023 saw the Strictly couple become first-time parents to their “miracle” baby girl Lyra Rose after a gruelling IVF journey.

With the arrival of 2024, Aljaz shared his aspirations: “This year has been the most life-changing year for me. All I want to do in 2024 is to SMASH fatherhood! Like that Metallica song goes ‘nothing else matters.”

Janette, now a mum-of-one, previously opened up to The Mirror about her challenging post-childbirth experience, revealing that the pain from her Caesarian section was so intense that it took weeks before she could hold her baby girl.

This physical distance plunged Janette into a deep emotional struggle as she found it difficult to bond with Lyra. Janette explained: “It was hard as a C-section, it’s a long recovery. I couldn’t carry Lyra as much as I wanted to. That was really hard for me emotionally.”

She went on to say: “I thought when I get home it’ll be fine. But then at home, obviously I still couldn’t, so Aljaz took the helm and I went properly down. I just thought, ‘How can I not hold my baby now? I’ve just done this and now I can’t hold her’. That was really tough.”
