Rylan Clark kisses stranger on BBC show after admitting body confidence struggles

Rylan Clark locked lips with a stranger in a bar as he and Rob Rinder continued their travels around Italy.

The TV stars have hit the road together for BBC programme Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour, which sees them on a cultural journey to discover Italy’s greatest art treasures. In the latest instalment, they hit a bar for a night out and Rylan ended up smooching a hunky rugby player after they chatted all evening.

Their cheeky kiss came after Rylan confessed that he’d had some struggles with confidence. He and Good Morning Britain star Rob had the chance to pose shirtless for an artist but Rylan admitted he had some doubts.

Turning to the artist’s model, who wasn’t wearing a great deal, he confessed: “I don’t think I could do what you’re doing right now… I just don’t feel confident enough to do that.”

He went on: “I don’t like my arms, I don’t like my legs, I don’t like my body. I don’t like this, I don’t like that. I’ve just been made to feel s*** in the past by people.”

Rob said he would do the modelling for the pair. But in the end Rylan also agreed to join in, slipping into a loose top to pose for the painter.

The TV star has had some confidence issues

The star made it clear the travel show experience is having a positive impact on him, adding: “I have made no secret about the fact that I’ve not got that much confidence in myself. But now I am here with Rob, learning whilst having a bit of fun…” He added: “I’ve never felt more comfortable in myself than I have now.”

Rylan has said the trip is part of his ‘restart’

Rylan and Rob had both been through break-ups before heading off on their Italian adventure. Rylan split from husband Dan Neal in 2021 and has been open about how painful an experience it was. And Rob’s relationship with Seth Cumming ended in 2018 after almost five years.

Opening up to the BBC, Rylan previously said he saw the trip with close friend Rob as “part of my restart in life”. “We’ve both been through painful divorces recently and are ready for the next chapter,” he said.
