Gordon Ramsay ‘hires mega-bucks security’ including guard dogs to protect family

Gordon Ramsay has reportedly hauled in an expensive security team to protect his family.

The 57-year-old TV chef had been left “spooked” after his £13million gastropub became a target for squatters. All he could do was watch on in horror as his swanky York and Albany hotel was taken over by the group.

Following the chaos from last’s month’s property invasion, the Kitchen Nightmares star was taking desperate measures to ensure that his family home is kept safe while it’s being refurbished. With no expenses spared, Gordon has hired the help of a top security team to watch over his family.

His new ring of steel protection will include 24 hour surveillance, with guards and dogs keeping watch over their home in London. The Ramsays have recently moved out of their London mansion while it’s under refurbishment.

An insider told The Sun: “The only thing more important to Gordon than his business empire is his family, so he’s not sparing any expense to keep them safe. Seeing the occupation of one of his premises spooked him, and he realised the same fate could befall his family home if he didn’t take extreme precautions.”

They added: “Now he’s decided the security measures — no matter how costly — will stay in place after the refurbishment of the house. Gordon still works abroad and his wife Tana only gave birth to their sixth child, son Jesse, six months ago.”

In April, Gordon was alerted that The York & Albany hotel, in North London was under invasion by six professional squatters. They made their way into the Grade II listed property and trashed the place.

They glued locks shut and refused to be removed from Gordon’s premises, despite the pub already having top notch security in place which was obviously not enough to keep out the group. It led to a very costly legal battle for the TV icon to finally get them removed.

Gordon’s legal team managed to secure a High Court order for possession of the property and the squatters, who called themselves Anarchist Association London Branch, were left fuming about it. They branded Gordon a “foul-mouthed chef” and said he could only afford to have them removed because he was wealthy.

It couldn’t have landed at a worse time for the restauranteur, as he was about to cut a multi-million deal to hand over the business to new partners when the chaos broke out and the squatters moved in.

Daily Star has contacted representatives for Gordon for comment.
