Ruth Langsford left her Loose Women co-stars in stitches when she spilled the beans on what Eamonn Holmes would do to get frisky.
The 64-year-old presenter made the cheeky revelation before the heartbreaking news of their split was announced today. A shock statement from their representative confirmed that the couple have ended their 14-year marriage and are heading for a divorce.
In happier times, Ruth, who shares a 22-year-old son, Jack, with Eamonn, opened up about their intimate life on the ITV show, leaving viewers stunned. While her fellow panellists Franke Bridge, Carol McGiffin, and Kelle Bryan all agreed a sex ban wouldn’t work in their relationships, Ruth confessed there is one thing Eamonn would do to ensure he gets lucky.

She quipped: “You can have all the compliments and the flowers but then, if Eamonn comes home and has used my car and he goes, “Filled the petrol up and did your water bottle,” I’m like, ‘Get upstairs right now'”. As the studio audience erupted into laughter, Ruth continued: “I hate doing it.
“Literally, I’ll go round with my petrol light on red, the water bottle empty, smeared [windscreen], I’m like, ‘Oh I can’t stop and do that,’ so he’ll do it for me and he knows, he knows.”
She added with a smirk: “Everyone’s got their little trick.” Sadly, it appears that the couple’s private life has come to an end following months of speculation about their relationship.
After a series of disputes and not being seen together for months, many were left wondering if Ruth and Eamonn had secretly parted ways. Discussing their confirmed separation today, an insider revealed: “It’s a very sorry tale. They are both so loved by the British public, they won over so many people on This Morning which they hosted for more than a decade.”
They further added: “They were as close to Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan as you could get,” according to MailOnline. Meanwhile, a friend of the couple told The Sun how the pair drifted apart in recent months as their work commitments “took them in different directions”.
Eamonn and Ruth haven’t featured in each other’s Instagram photos since July 2022. They continued to mention each other in interviews and on their respective shows, Good Morning Britain and Loose Women, but their social media accounts painted a different picture.
In a touching post, Ruth last shared a photo of the two on their anniversary two years ago, captioning the post: “Happy Anniversary my love @eamonnholme Loved you then Love you still Always have Always will.”
