The Chase’s Bradley Walsh left relishing over Darragh Ennis’ ‘stupid’ error as he fumes

The Chase host Bradley Walsh was quick to share his glee over the Chaser’s “really stupid” error on the show.

The hit ITV gameshow was back on TV screens on Friday (May 10) as telly legend Bradley Walsh welcomed four new quizzers. As fans tuned in, he introduced contestants Henrik, Cassie, Angie and Ryan before they battled it out to take home the all-important cash prize.

This week the quartet was up against Darragh Ennis who made sure to bring his A-game against the wise quizzers. But things took an awkward turn when Darragh fluffed up his answer.

During Cassie’s round, she was playing for £4,000. One of the questions was: “What is m the word scurrilous referred to?” The options were bribery, running away and making scandalous claims.

Another lot of players were hoping to take home some cash

Cassie chose the third option while Darragh selected running away. Cassie ended up guessing correctly much to her happiness – but Darragh was not too happy about it.

Frustrated, he told the ITV show host Bradley afterwards: “Do you ever do something really stupid? I looked at the word and read scurry and didn’t read the question properly and picked the wrong answer.”

The Chaser was not too happy

He added: “It’s a really bad miss from me.” But Bradley gleefully replied: “It’s a bad miss, but it’s good for us!” The Chaser’s blunder worked out in Cassie’s favour. She made it through to the final and brought the prize fund up to £10,000.

In the final chase, it was Cassie and Henrick who were playing for the final jackpot. And all eyes were on the pair as they attempted to get as many correct answers.

Bradley said his mistake was ‘good for the team’

Sadly they only managed to get 10 questions correct – and even Bradley thought the questions were difficult. Darragh ended up beating the pair, as player Henrick sighed: “That was quick.”

Darragh then told the pair: “You completely underperformed in the final. Which is a shame as you performed well otherwise. You were very nervous and you didn’t have a chance then.”
