Love Island is cranking up the heat for the latest series, with bosses declaring they want it to be the “sexiest ever” by making the Hideaway a full-time den of love.
The producers are shaking things up, giving Islanders the freedom to sneak away for some steamy alone time whenever the mood strikes – and they’ve even kitted out a spare room with extra beds so that even those not coupled-up can share a bed.
Creative Director Mike Spencer has dished the details: “It’s all about options this year. We want it to be fun. Young, sexy, single people come abroad and hopefully find love.”

In previous seasons, contestants would vote for a couple to spend a night in the Hideaway, complete with sex toys and skimpy lingerie. But now, the Majorcan villa boasts a special area with a hot tub, and a neon sign flashing “no invite needed” to encourage spontaneous romantic escapades.
The show’s bigwigs are currently playing with the idea of letting only singletons or those paired up in non-romantic couples enter the Hideaway to test new connections, reports the Mirror.
“At the moment, this is work in progress, but you shouldn’t be in a couple to go in there,” Spencer reveals. “Sometimes by default or recouplings you might end up in a friendship so the idea is that there’s no invite needed as long as you’re not in a couple.”
He adds that the aim is to keep things “organic and natural, it might not be a useful space but I think it was fair to change it up a little bit for series 11. It’s been a staple for so long it’s good to change things up a bit.”
He also expressed a desire for the show to break away from the repetitive patterns of previous seasons, which often saw couples dressing up and using toys in the Hideaway during their private moments.
“I think we got into a bit of a repetitive pattern about how we were shooting the hideaway, people dressed up, they came out, but I think it might be time for a change and we don’t need to rely so heavily on things like that,” Mike continued. “It can still happen, there’ll still be some things like that around but maybe not a cupboard with it all in.”
Interestingly, there’s potential for Islanders to sneak off behind their partner’s back. “If you were in a couple, you could technically go in with someone else,” Mike confessed.
“It’s going to be chaos! We’re up for anything, we’re up for changes. There’s so many dating shows on TV and there’s a real reason we’re in season 11 and not be afraid to do something different.”
The room is described as having a “seductive, Moulin Rouge” vibe with deep red accents complemented by gold features, and producers have added a cheeky “Naughty vibes” neon sign to the wall behind the bed.
Host Maya Jama believes the new areas will be the perfect spot to “see if you get fanny flutters”, quoting former Islander Maura Higgins. Mike added: “Over the years it has to evolve, everything evolves. All the islanders coming on the show know what it involves so I think we’ll just continue doing what we’re doing.”
