The Chase host Bradley Walsh gobsmacked at ‘show first’ as he cries ‘at last’

The Chase host Bradley Walsh was left with his jaw on the floor over a ‘show first.’

The hit ITV gameshow was back on TV screens on Wednesday (May 29) as Bradley welcomed four new quizzers. As fans tuned in, he introduced contestants Nav, Andrea, Tom and Karen before they battled it out to take home the all-important cash prize.

This week the quartet were up against Anne Hegerty who made sure to bring her A-game against the wise quizzers. But Bradley was left stunned when he chatted to player Tom before starting his game.

“I’m from Croydon and I’m a reinsurance underwriter,” Tom told the host. But Bradley couldn’t believe it as he quipped: “At last! At last!”

The player left Bradley stunned

Gobsmacked, and referring to his job, he added: “A reinsurance underwriter, you can explain to me what it is.” Tom replied: “Insurance for insurance – simple as that.”

Sadly, it wasn’t Tom’s lucky day as during his head-to-head against Anne, she managed to beat him – sending him home empty-handed. Player Karen was the last to try and bag a spot in the Final Chase with previous players Nav and Andrea.

Bradley cried out ‘at last!’

Luckily, she beat Anne and joined the rest of the players to try and take home a share of the hefty £13,000 cash prize. During the Final Chase, the team pulled out all the stops and got 19 questions correct.

And fortunately for them, Anne answered several questions wrong during her game. She ended up running out of time – meaning the team had won.

The team ended up winning the game

The trio were over the moon to be taking home £4,333 each. Fans were quick to react to the team’s win on X, formerly known as Twitter. One person said: “A good win. Deserved!”

Someone else added: “Again, highlighting the twists and turns of #TheChase, a team that didn’t do too well in the Cash Builders suddenly sets a target of 19 and walks away with the money.”
