Britain’s Got Talent finalist suffers devastating blow just hours before live final

A Britain’s Got Talent finalist has been issued a major blow just hours before the live final.

The beloved ITV show, fronted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, comes to an end on Sunday night (June 2). It will see 10 acts take to the stage one last time to be crowned the champ.

In a bid to bag the £250,000 prize and a slot at the Royal Variety Performance, the contestants will have to impress not only the nation, but judges too: Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli.

Acts like Comedian Alex Mitchell and Magician Jack Rhodes will all be performing, along with Singer Sydnie Christmas and dancing duo Abigail & Afronitaaa.

But now, just hours before the live final takes place – act Trixy has been dealt a major blow. The magician, who is also an electrician, shocked everyone during his audition earlier this year.

And when it came to the live semi-final on Friday (May 31) he pulled out all the stops – bagging a spot in the final. Using the calculator app on the phone, he pulled off a show-stopping trick.

However, in odds provided by Ladbrokes, the bookies have chalked up Trixy at 66/1 to win the show – coming in last. As for the likely act to take home the crown, bookies reckon it’s a two-horse race this year.

They have put singer Sydnie Christmas winning the show at odds of 2/5. Comedian Alex Mitchell also has odds of 9/2 to win.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It looks like we’re set for a two-horse race – at best – and while the odds suggest it’s very much Sydnie’s to lose, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Alex push her all the way.”

Magician Trixy kicked off his semi-final performance by having everyone whip out their mobiles for a calculator trick, asking judge Bruno Tonioli for his wake-up time.

“8:45am,” Bruno answered, and Trixy had the crowd punch 845 into their calculators before Alesha Dixon disclosed there were 3,000 folks in the studio, which was added to the total. Amanda Holden’s 1.04am bedtime became 104 in the mix, and finally, host Dec was asked for a random six-figure number.

After all the additions, Trixy hit them with the equals sign, and the result? A precise 315, 823, announced bang on 8.23pm on May 31, leaving the audience gobsmacked.
