EastEnders fans have predicted the next serial killer on the soap – and it’s bad news for Sonia Fowler.
Reiss, played by Jonny Freeman, made his first soap appearance in 2022. As the late Dot Branning’s great-nephew, Reiss quickly got settled into life on the square.
He also started a relationship with soap legend Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy). The pair were desperate to have a child but faced several hurdles – including Reiss’ infertility.

What’s more, in a tragic twist it was revealed last year that Reiss’ wife was hospitalised in a long-term coma. At first, Sonia was taken aback by dating a technically married man.

But she soon changed her tune. The soap icon then started a romance with Reiss. And longing to have a baby, and despite a long wait, Sonia and Reiss managed to get IVF with Sonia undergoing treatment.
Sonia didn’t know though that Reiss had stolen the money from Debbie’s account to fund the IVF. The pair were dealt good news though when Sonia found out she was pregnant.

But in a devastating twist, last week, Sonia was rushed to hospital after she started bleeding – and was told she wasn’t actually pregnant.
And at the start of this week, Sonia decided she wanted to try again for IVF. However, with no money, Reiss ended up visiting Debbie and told her he was taking more money.
Things turned awkward though when Bianca rocked up gobsmacked at the truth. And in Tuesday’s episode (June 11) Bianca demanded Reiss to tell Sonia the truth which he did – leaving her heartbroken.
However, she quickly changed her tune and told Reiss to use Debbie’s money for their next lot of IVF. But at the end of the episode, Reiss was not happy with Bianca interfering with the situation.
He bluntly told her: “I’m warning you,” leaving Bianca clearly shaken before the episode ended. Now, fans are certain Reiss is going to be “Walford’s next killer.”
On a Reddit thread, one fan wrote: “Some subtle and not-so-subtle foreshadowing in yesterday’s and today’s episodes. Reiss fluffing up his wife’s pillow, and outright telling Bianca that he won’t stand for her behaviour with that wild look in his eyes.
“Seems like they’re prepping Reiss to be Walford’s next killer and honestly it’s a master stroke. A dark twist is exactly what his character arc needs. Cowardly characters are always at their most compelling when they’re backed into a corner.”
On X, someone else said: “Reiss is gonna become a serial killer, isn’t he?” A second person penned: “Reiss is so weird and creepy. There’s just something so extremely off about him.”
