Emmerdale fans ‘twig’ major twist as they figure out ‘real’ cause of Ethan’s death

Emmerdale’s Ruby Fox-Miligan is set to hand herself over to the cops, leaving fans on the edge of their seats as they reckon there’s another bombshell waiting to drop.

The village bad girl, played by the talented Beth Cordingly, hit Ethan with her car back in May, and not long after, the dashing lawyer keeled over at home just before his court date for a boozy car smash, tragically dying.

Ethan’s dad Charles has been left devastated, and Ruby’s been trying to be there for him and his other half Manpreet Sharma. But her son Nicky (played by Lewis Cope) wasn’t having any of it during Wednesday’s Emmerdale antics on ITV.

Guilt-ridden and worried sick about Charles’ heartache, Ruby vowed to Nicky she’d face the music with the law, scared stiff he’d leg it from Mill Cottage for good.

Ethan died recently not long after he was hit by a car

But the plot thickens as telly addicts reckon there’s more to Ethan’s death than meets the eye, with the real reason still under wraps. Fans are buzzing with theories, hitting up Twitter with their hunches: “It’s surely going to turn out it wasn’t Ruby’s fault has cause of death been told,” tweeted one eagle-eyed viewer, reports the Mirror.

Fans of the show are buzzing with theories, with one viewer predicting: “I bet Ruby confesses then it turns out running him over had nothing to do with his death!” Meanwhile, another fan suspects a twist, hinting that Ruby might flee instead: “Ruby’s not going to hand herself in, she’s got two storylines on the go.

Emmerdale fans reckon there’ll be a twist with Ruby

“It’ll be an underlying heart condition, she’ll be off the hook, Charles will have a little cry snap out of it and they’ll all be down the pub, ready for the next pile of sh*** episode.”

In another corner, someone else chimed in, betting that Ruby won’t face jail time: “Ruby is going to run.”

With her TV son Nicky set to exit the village soon, could this spell disaster?

Some fans think Ruby might flee the village

Ruby took drastic measures after finding out Ethan was to blame for Nicky ending up in a coma following a boozy car smash. Last month saw the two men in a race to reach Nicky’s beau Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) after knocking back some drinks.

Ethan, who was driving, legged it from the crash site, leaving Nicky for dead. Overwhelmed by remorse, he confessed to his dad Charles, only to be stunned when his own father dobbed him in to the cops.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV
