Nicola McLean has dropped one of her wildest anecdotes yet – admitting she was recruited to film a ‘fake’ TV show and drugged by the dodgy bloke running things.
The I’m A Celeb star had been enjoying her time at the Playboy Mansion alongside Justin Timberlake and Hugh Hefner when she was flown out in first class to film a show she assumed was for ITV. But in reality, there never was a programme.
Speaking on the Saving Grace podcast with host GK Barry, Nicola confessed: “This is the weirdest story. I went with this guy to film a reality TV show that wasn’t actually a reality TV show. The guy then got arrested for basically being a Catch Me If You Can type of person.

“He fooled everyone into thinking we were going out to film an ITV show, but we weren’t. I got taken there first class, I got picked up. Like, I don’t care! He wrote me the nicest apology letter from prison and I’m like, ‘Why you saying sorry? I had a great time!’ My agent was like, ‘Don’t converse with this man!’ I was like, ‘Poor guy! I had the best time, hope you’re alright!’”

Nicola went on to explain: “So anyway, I’m at the Playboy Mansion with this guy, we film this show that isn’t really a show – we had all the camera crew and everything. It looked legit. My sister said, ‘Don’t drink and make sure you keep a lid on your water at all times in case someone tries to drug you’.
“I get on the plane and I was going straight to a Page 3 shoot. I thought, ‘I’m gonna be knackered’. I told the guy and he only gave me a Rohypnol and I took it on the plane! I’ve spent the whole time at the Playboy Mansion not drinking, not getting involved with Justin Timberlake and Hef, then I’ve taken a Rohypnol on a plane!”

GK then quizzed Nicola: “Were you buzzing off your t*ts?” – but she responded: “I was sound asleep – anything could have happened. I phoned my sister from the car at Heathrow and she said, ‘Tell me, all fine? Are you knackered?’ I went, ‘No, slept the whole way home, Michael gave me a Rohypnol!’
“She said, ‘Oh you’ve been date raped?’ and I said, ‘I’m sure nothing happened’. Only me! First class – that’s the time it could happen.” Grace joked: “That’s true, you’ve got a bed. If you’re gonna get drugged anywhere, let it be on the plane home.”

Nicola chimed in: “Or in the Playboy Mansion, in the grotto!” while GK agreed: “That’s fair because at least that would’ve been a story and a half.”
