Louise Thompson reveals she has ‘never felt sexy’ as she embraces health condition

Made in Chelsea star Louise Thompson has been trying to eradicate the stigma of stoma bags ever since she underwent a string of health issues.

The TV star, 34, has suffered a series of physical and mental health issues since the birth of her son Leo-Hunter, two. She almost died during a traumatic birth and was left with PTSD.

She also suffers from the bowel condition ulcerative colitis, and autoimmune disease lupus, which has led to her now having a stoma bag. Louise has been sharing a lot of encouraging and inspirational content on social media to help other people who are in her situation.

Opening up on how she tries to feel her best despite her health battles, Louise said: “Gosh. I was never someone that felt particularly sexy anyway.

“To be honest I’ve always found that word a bit cringe. If there was a list of a whopping 100 adjectives to describe me ‘sexy’ would certainly not be on it! I’m more ‘cute’ as [her partner] Ryan [Libbey] says.

“I’ve built up a lot of confidence with mine by speaking to other women with them. They are some of the most confident women I know. I also don’t let it dictate my life, so I still wear what I want, including swimwear and low-cut jeans.”

Louise is currently in a relationship with her former Made In Chelsea cast member Ryan and the couple got engaged in Los Angeles in 2018 and share a son Leo-Hunter.

Louise spoke to the Daily Star exclusively as she joined forces with small business champion Not On The High Street to create her newest collection. The reality star selected her favourite picks from unique small businesses for children to show love for their father figures this Father’s Day.

She added: “I’ve always used Not on the High Street as a destination for finding unique gifts. This is going to sound ridiculous but I receive so many things for free that are ‘gifted’ from brands, that it means it’s really important that my friends know that I’ve chosen and paid for something specifically for them. Not just handed something on. Even people that don’t work in this industry, play pass the parcel with gifts, but with something personalised you know that it’s come straight from the heart, from the pocket, and with a bit more thought and consideration gone into it.

“I am a real mush so I love the book that we made for Ryan with his name in it. I do whatever it takes to encourage him to talk and read to Leo because I know how much Leo loves it and how much he benefits from it! I also love the leather bookmark that has photos of our family printed on it. It’s such a chic and understated gift.

“Now that I’m feeling a lot better I’m doing a lot more reading, so I’ve ordered myself one as well as everyone in my family one too! It means that everyone gets to look at the family before they go to sleep at night (if they’re doing a spot of bedside reading that is).”
