EastEnders legend’s three-word response as she addresses Mick Carter’s ‘return’

EastEnders icon Kellie Bright gave a simple three-word response after being quizzed on Danny Dyer’s plans to return to the BBC One soap.

The Linda Carter actress attended The TRIC Awards on Tuesday (June 26) along with other big names in TV. The guests packed into the Grosvenor House Hotel, where they were treated to a luxury three-course sit down meal as they chatted with colleagues, showbiz friends and industry professionals alike. But before the any gongs were given away the stars arrived on the red carpet and Danny Dyer was the topic of conversation.

As fans of the BBC One soap will know, Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) disappeared on Christmas Day 2022 after he jumped into the sea to save Linda and pregnant Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks). The pub landlord never re-surfaced from the water and although his body was never found the pub landlord was presumed dead by police.

Ever since Mick vanished there have been plenty of rumours suggesting he will return to Walford. Speaking about a possible Linda and Mick reunion, Simon Gross spoke Kellie on the red carpet at the TRIC awards.

Former Big Brother housemate Simon said: “And we can’t wait for the arrival of Mick, and you’re not going to tell me anything I’m sure. But another bonkers if he does come back out of the sea and back into your life that is panto”. Kellie simply replied: “Never say never”, before adding: “That’s all iIm going to say.”

Meanwhile, the Mick Carter actor Danny recently spoke to Heat Magazine about a potential soap comeback and explained how he was constantly being questioned when he would return to EastEnders.

The Football Factory explained how he felt complimented that people wanted him back in Walford, he added: “If there’s no closure there, then maybe I would come back for a dream sequence.

“I don’t think Mick could just rock up covered in seaweed! I think if they did it right, with the 40th anniversary coming up, if they came up with an idea of maybe Linda drunk or hallucinating, then I would come back and do some scenes with her.”

Speaking about his co-star, Danny added: “You know, because I do miss Kellie, and I think maybe that would stop people asking me when I’m f****** going back!”

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
