Glastonbury wardrobe blunders – boob slips, boos and ‘I’ll get you arrested’

Things haven’t always gone to plan for stars performing at Glastonbury.

The legendary festival has flung open its gates once again at Worthy Farm. This year, pop titans Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Shania Twain will grace the Pyramid Stage as headliners.

But over the years, the Somerset festival’s singers have made headlines for things other than the music. The likes of Lily Allen and Becky Hill have fallen victim to some rather cheeky blunders at the worst possible time.

Daily Star has rounded up the worst wardrobe malfunctions of all time at the iconic event.

Becky Hill’s X-rated moment

Last year, pop sensation Becky Hill was forced to to halt her set on the Other Stage to avoid exposing her boobs to the masses. She performed in a tiny black bikini top with yellow smiley faces and a matching miniskirt.

The singer looked incredible but her stunning look came at a cost as they seemingly couldn’t contain her chest. She told the crowd: “Well I seem to have a little bit of a wardrobe malfunction. And irritatingly, somewhat. Can I get this off? Sorry Glastonbury.”

Becky quipped: “It wouldn’t be a Becky Hill set if there wasn’t some clumsiness involved would there.” However, members of the crowd started booing, suggesting they were hoping to see more of the star than she’d intended.

Telling off the punters, she said: “Don’t boo the boobs being in! Come on! In 2023 I’ll get you all arrested.”

Boob slip

In 2009, Lily Allen suffered an awkward wardrobe malfunction before playing her hit Littlest Things. The singer, 38, told the crowd: “My tit tape has just fallen out,” before exposing her breast to the shocked audience and giggling.

Her set was certainly a memorable one. The star payed a subtle tribute to Michael Jackson as well as launching a tirade against the British National Party.

‘I thought your boob had popped out’

American rock band Haim performed at Glastonbury in 2013 and Alana Haim thought her bandmate sister Este had a wardrobe blunder when she “almost died” on stage at the festival. During their set, the 37-year-old had a diabetes attack which caused her arms to go numb.

“I honestly thought that your boob had popped out and that’s why you were freaking out so much,” Alana, 31, said. Confirming her sister’s confusion, Este told Absolute Radio: “She really did – she must have been thinking, ‘Oh my god my sister has pulled a Janet Jackson and we’re going to get fined’. Luckily this wasn’t the case.”

Nip slip

Former The Dresden Dolls star Amanda Palmer took to the Glastonbury stage in 2013 and put on quite the show. While the singer is no stranger to performing in skimpy outfits, she got more than she bargained for when she suffered a boob-slip incident on stage.

As she sang enthusiastically, the 47-year-old’s shirt popped open. Amanda managed to rearrange her bra as it rode up, before ripping her shirt completely open in view of the audience.

See-through dress

Hours before her then-husband Kanye West headlined at Glastonbury in 2015, Kim Kardashian stepped out in a truly daring outfit that turned plenty of heads. The reality star, 42, opted to wear a sheer black top but ditched her bra for the occasion, thus flashing her nipples for the cameras and leaving very little to the imagination.

Kim, who was pregnant with her second child at the time, paired the racy top with a matching pencil skirt as well as a grey sheer cardigan draped over her shoulders.
