Joanna Page, who plays the titular Stacey on the show, said that she will not be donning her usual bikini on the BBC show this time around. When asked why, she admitted that she was too old to be frolicking along the coast in a two-piece.

Page, 47, who also found fame for her role on Love Actually, said while speaking to BBC Breakfast: “I just hope that I haven’t signed on to be running around on Barry beach in a bikini because I’m not doing that at 47.”

In the blockbuster hit Love Actually, Joanna had no trouble in stripping completely nude, as she acted as body double Just Judy. In some raunchy scenes, she was seen getting down and dirty with hunky Martin Freeman, who played John – and fell in love with Judy whilst they recorded sex scenes.

Page added that she was just as clueless as everyone else when she got the script for the final episode. She went on to say she was absolutely floored when she watched Smithy and Nessa, played by James Corden and Ruth Jones respectively, end the show on a cliffhanger.

“I am the same as everyone else – I can’t wait to find out what has happened,” she revealed. “I remember all those years ago reading the script for the last special, and I was doing it on my phone.

“I got to the end, and it said, ‘Nessa goes down one knee’, and I remember scrolling through thinking, ‘That can’t be the end’. I am the same as everybody, what happens?”

James, who co-writes the comedy alongside Jones, confirmed that there would be one final episode of Gavin and Stacey. He also confirmed that it would be coming out on Christmas Day, sending fans and viewers alike into a frenzy.

“We’ll have: A chicken bhuna, lamb bhuna, prawn bhuna, mushroom rice, bag of chips, keema naan, nine poppadoms and the last ever episode of Gavin and Stacey!!!” the pair said in a joint post on social media. Alison Steadman, Rob Brydon and Larry Lamb will all return for the final episode.
