Jeremy Clarkson displays grim ‘dogging’ find after buying pub on notorious outdoor sex site

TV legend Jeremy Clarkson made a shock discovery on the land of his new pub in the Cotswolds.

The 64-year-old has reportedly paid “less than £1 million” for The Windmill near Burford in Oxfordshire. The former Top Gear star recently discovered that the pub has an interesting history revealing that it is built on a former hotspot for dogging.

And it seems some elements of its seedy past still remain as Jeremy appears to have stumbled across a lacy pair of knickers on the site this week.

Jeremy posted a short clip on his Instagram this evening (Tuesday, July 9) sharing his shock revelation with his 8.3million followers. In the video he says: “Tell me you bought a pub on a dogging site without telling me you bought a pub on a dogging site.”

In the video Jeremy can be seen holding up the black, lacy knickers with a twig, with a disgusted expression on his face. Unsurprisingly, in just over three hours the video has amassed over 110,000 likes and over 1,000 comments .

His fans saw the funny side, with one commenting: “Rename the pub The Dog Inn”, another wrote: “Bet that was left there as a cruel joke by James May”, while a third said: “This is terrible! Please tell me the exact location, time and dates, so I know to avoid missing it.”

Renovations are to begin soon and Jeremy expects to be up and running by Christmas. Last week he teased an update in a post on Instagram saying: “New pub coming along. Only the water, gas, lavatories, staff and electrics to sort and we’ll be ready to go.”

The presenter is said to have bought the freehold to it and it reportedly isn’t tied to a brewery. It’s been suggested that as a result he can sell his own beer and farm produce at the venue, which is located around ten miles from Diddly Squat Farm.

Jackie Walker, 79, who is said to have opened the pub with her late husband Alan Walker in 1983, reportedly hadn’t put it on the market and was surprised to be told of Jeremy’s interest which “accelerated into a finalised deal within minutes of their meeting”. She told the outlet that a film crew came into the pub and the “next thing” she knew, someone with Jeremy knocked on the door and asked if she was interested in selling it.

She was reportedly invited to meet with him at his home in a nearby village to discuss possible terms. She said: “The first thing Jeremy said to me was I suppose you want a lot of money for this.” He’s said to have made her an immediate offer that was much more than she had expected. and she accepted immediately. Jackie, who reportedly accepted immediately, said that it made her “laugh” but she noted it “is” Jeremy.

Jezza was not impressed

Jackie claims that they met for coffee at his house and that she had taken over maps of the place for the meeting. She described Jeremy and his partner Lisa Hogan as “charming,” adding that she “really liked them”. She added: “I had not been planning to sell the place, but I wasn’t that happy with how it was being run and I am not getting any younger.”

Jackie said that she stepped away from pulling pints in 2013 when her husband Alan died, aged 73. She then allowed leaseholders to continue its operation.

Jeremy Clarkson has big plans for the pub

Jeremy reportedly bought out the remaining five years on that lease from husband and wife leaseholders Barry and Vanessa Eason when he signed the dotted line. The Eason family are said to have left last month.
