ITV Love Island fans accuse bosses of ‘ruining’ show as they fear love triangle

Love Island fans are on edge as another love triangle seems to be brewing in the ITV villa.

Sunday night’s episode hinted at unresolved feelings between former partners Ayo and Mimii, despite both having recoupled since Casa Amor. Ayo is now with Jess following the Casa Amor shake-up, while Mimii has found a connection with newcomer Josh.

However, fans suspect this new arrangement may not last. In the dramatic episode aired on July 14, Mimii confessed to Nicole that she still harbours feelings for Ayo, causing a stir among viewers.

Mimii admitted to Nicole that things were “simple” with Ayo. This prompted Nicole to advise her to follow her heart, reports the Mirror.

Despite the supportive conversation between Mimii and Nicole, fans expressed their frustration over another potential love triangle on social media. One viewer vented on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Producers ruining the show with this whole Mimii and Ayo saga… give it a rest, the girl said she moved on #LoveIsland.” (sic).

Another disgruntled fan commented: “The fact that Josh asked Mimii on that first date if she’s done with Ayo and she said yes. Now she’s talking about ‘simple’ and ‘chemistry’. Girl you lied to that man. Made him believe he stood a chance. Unbelievable! ” (sic).

One irate viewer vented: “Is Mimii serious? Simple and natural” after all Ayo has done? Ayo is not bothered about her and is not even considering getting back together with her. What is she thinking? And why are the other islanders trying to force things btw Ayo and Mimii?”(sic).

Another fan chimed in: “I’m high key waiting to see the ‘tomorrow night’ cause this Mimii and Ayo situation is making me feel uneasy.” (sic).

Despite the frustration, some viewers empathised with the lingering feelings between Mimii and Ayo. Offering a different perspective, one viewer commented: “People coming at Mimii for having feelings for Ayo. What’s wrong with acknowledging there still are feelings there??? She’s not been acting on it.” (sic).

Love Island airs every day at 9am on ITV2.
