Jodie Marsh has been embroiled in a war with a local council over her request to keep wild animals.
The former glamour model has been rejected in her bid to house eight ring-tailed lemurs at her animal sanctuary. The Celebrity Big Brother star was denied a dangerous wild animal licence after councillors were told “she was not suitable” to look after the creatures.
Jodie owns and runs her animal sanctuary, Fripps Farm, which is located in Dunmow, Essex. Members of Uttlesford District Council (UDC) were told the shocking news that Jodie had previously taken a baby meerkat into a local pub twice.

The star allegedly claimed this was because the animal “couldn’t be left alone”. However, this wasn’t the first time she had taken an animal into a boozer as it had been an owl on another occasion.
Jodie told a local newspaper: “The council have got it in for me.” Whereas Councillor Richard Freeman told the committee: “The panel is concerned that Jodie Marsh has a perception that the animals in her care are her personal pets.”
The council also rejected the application on Monday (July 15) citing concerns noise from the lemurs could impact the community, as the animals are known as one of the most vocal primates.

A spokesman for Uttlesford Council said: “The panel carefully considered the information available to it and determined that it was not appropriate to grant the licence for the reasons given in the decision notice. This decision was based purely on the relevant information and the legislation.
“Given the applicant has a right to appeal the decision to the magistrates courts, it would not be appropriate for us to comment further.”

Jodie, 45, who founded the animal sanctuary Fripps Farm in 2020, has promised to contest the licence rejection. She told a local newspaper: “This is a vendetta against me.
“Uttlesford Council has had it in for me from the day I moved to Uttlesford. They have treated me unfairly and discriminated against me for 11 years, and I can prove that.
“They are acting like these lemurs are coming out of a jungle into my garden. I just feel disappointed in the council because it is a useless council, it doesn’t do anything for the people.”
Her sanctuary cares for over 400 animals including farm animals, emus and reptiles. She has previously claimed her OnlyFans content has been helping to fund the cause.
