One of Peaky Blinders’ well-loved stars has teased his dramatic debut theatre role.
Loyal fans of the BBC One historical drama will remember Finn Cole when he portrayed bad boy Michael Gray. His character caused a whole host of trouble for Tommy Shelby as they battled it out for the top spot as gang leader in the Birmingham crime drama.
The six series show sadly came to an end in 2022, but that hasn’t stopped the hunk from landing exciting new roles since then. On Friday (July 19), the 28-year-old Hollywood actor made his theatre debut after landing the leading role in a new play titled Red Speedo.

It’s based on the 2013 book that follows an Olympic hopeful who does whatever it takes to escape scandal after performance-enhancing drugs are found in his teammate’s locker. In new pictures, the TV favourite leaves little to the imagination as he squeezes into a pair of the infamous red trunks.
He looked nothing short of sensational as he posed up a storm at the Orange Tree Theatre in London. An enormous dragon tattoo can be seen covering his entire back and down half of his left leg as he looks off into the distance.
The Baywatch-inspired suit shows off his bulging biceps and washboard abs as he performs on stage. It appears as though a pool has even been built on stage for the special production of the Off-Broadway play.
It didn’t take long before his famous friends and loyal legion of fans flooded to the comments to congratulate the star and shower his with compliments online. Marvel star Florence Pugh penned: “Oh my gosh this is unbelievably exciting!”
Another fan cheekily added: “What a great day to have eyes [heart emoji, fire emoji]” as a third echoed: “Hot damn… [three fire emojis].” A fourth chimed in with: “You are on [fire emoji] and as sexy as it gets! [heart emoji].”
It comes after Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight announced that a movie is in the works for the beloved show. The gritty drama is being filmed in the West Midlands and is due to start shooting in September.
The show’s creator told Birmingham World that Cillian Murphy is set to reprise his role as Thomas Shelby. The drama, set in post-World War One Birmingham, had previously been slated for seven series, but the pandemic forced bosses to change their plans.
Speaking in 2022, Cillian Murphy said: “I think Steve has always had an endgame in mind, Covid screwed that up a bit. But now he’s got lots of plans to make a film.
“So I don’t think this is the end of the story. I think it’s probably just the end of the story in this form. But Steve is always bringing up ideas, and they’re always good. So I’ll just wait and see what he has to say.”
