Our Yorkshire Farm’s Reuben Owen confirms family’s TV future in telling post

Our Yorkshire Farm star Reuben has given fans a big update on the family’s TV future.

Reuben Owen was a fan favourite of the Channel 5 series that began in November 2018. Since then, the family were catapulted to fame thanks to their hands-on knowledge of the farm and their cheeky personalities that made them so endearing to watch.

But things soon took a turn in 2022 when mum Amanda Owen and dad Clive decided to split in a shock move for fans. As a result, the show – which followed the lives of the shepherding family in one of the most remote farms in the country – was abruptly put to an end.

The pair officially called it quits in June 2022 when they went public about their separation, following months of rumours and speculation. In a joint statement at the time, Amanda and Clive said they had “made the difficult decision to separate”, after years of wedded bliss.

“Clive and I have are sad to confirm that we have made the difficult decision to separate,” the statement read. “This hasn’t been easy, but we both believe it’s the right choice for the future of our family. Although we are no longer a couple, we continue to work on the farm and co-parent together with our number one priority the happiness and well-being of our children.”

Despite the split, Clive did continue to have some success on his own – starring in the spin-off of the show Beyond the Yorkshire Farm: Reuben and Clive. Reuben himself was able to bag some extra airtime as he starred with his then-girlfriend Sarah Dow and good pal Tommy McWhirter on his own series Life in the Dales.

But after speculation from fans about the future of his family in TV, Reuben broke his silence and addressed the rumours. A snap was uploaded by a pal of the Channel 5 star, showing Reuben hard at work toiling the ground – with a caption that simply read: “Film crew is here.”

Following this, Reuben’s colleague shared another snap the next day whilst the film crew had been recording him, penning: “We go again,” before tagging Reuben himself, as well as a local machinery company. The news comes after Reuben confirmed to have split from his girlfriend Sarah, despite their spin-off show.

Opening up to Lorraine Kelly on her ITV show, he explained that there is no bad blood between the two. “Me and Sarah are no longer together but we’re still very good friends,” he said.

“She’s doing her own thing, pursuing her own career. She does the odd day for us when she’s not busy. We’re not together anymore but we still get on well and still good pals.”

In a previous interview on Lorraine, dad Clive admitted that he found the stress of the show to be too much, which led to the downfall and demise of their marriage. He explained that while it “drove” Amanda, he “handled it very badly”, before saying: “It was such a change in our lives and I sadly made a right mess of things basically.”
