Jason Donovan said the secret to his “amazing” long marriage is that he is terrified of his wife.

The Especially For You singer wed stage ­manager Angela Malloch in 2008 – and they have three kids together. Jason, 56, revealed on the Happy Place ­podcast: “I do respect Ange and I’m scared s***less of her sometimes too – and I think that’s the honest truth.

“She’s tough. I mean, the irony is she plays football, and I’m the one that walks around in high heels and sings pop songs.

“When the car breaks down, she’s out there changing the wheel and, you know, I’m doing the gardening and picking the flowers.

“A healthy dose of fear is no bad thing. I heard Dustin Hoffman say that once on Parkinson.

“Parky said, ‘What is the secret to the success of marriage?’ And he said, ‘I’m scared s***less’

“Yeah, it is a good thing. She’s my best friend, is probably the best way to describe it.”

‌Jason shot to fame after bagging the role of Scott Robinson in the Aussie soap Neighbours, starring opposite Kylie Minogue as Charlene Mitchell, with his debut back in 1986.

He has starred in a West End run of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert and gained praise for his time playing the title role in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
