Heartstopper sensation Kit Connor has sent the show’s fanbase into overdrive with the revelation that upcoming sex scenes, shown in Season 3, took seven hours to shoot.
20-year-old Kit stars as Nick Nelson opposite Joe Locke as his on-screen beau Charlie Spring in the LGBTQ+ series, which is adapted from Alice Oseman’s beloved graphic novels. With the third season set to drop on Netflix this October, fans are eager for more.
After witnessing Nick and Joe’s romance bloom over the first two seasons, the third promises to delve deeper into their relationship, tackling themes like sex and mental health.

Speaking to The Times about the steamy sequences soon to hit our screens, Kit said: “We’ve been taking baby steps. Season 1, [the intimacy coordinator] would be there making sure that we were comfortable holding hands… And now we’re doing the sex scenes. We shot a lot of footage for them. Not much actually ended up in the show. But we shot the sex scenes for about seven hours”.
The revelation has sent social media into a frenzy, with fans flabbergasted at the marathon session required to perfect the passionate scenes, reports the Manchester Evening News. “Seven hours is quite a lot,” one fan commented. “They must have done it right with their intimacy coordinator walking them through it.”

Kit further divulged: “It plays a big part. I mean it’s great sex, really, really good. Immediately they just… become bros. It felt right for the characters.”
Heartstopper Season 1 and Season 2 are available to stream now on Netflix. Season 3 lands on October 3.
