Coronation Street fans were left scratching their heads over the surprising ages of the four characters who made a sudden return to the ITV soap all spruced up and barely recognisable.
In Monday’s episode (September 2), the Winter-Brown bunch stormed into Billy and Paul’s flat kitted out in new school uniform, psyched for their very first day at primary school.
The quad squad Carys, Bryn, Aled and Llio entered the world to parents Gemma and Chesney in October 2019. With older sibling Joseph Brown joining them for the ride amid taking an adorable family photo with their mum, nana and uncle the foursome looked all grown up and a far cry from their last time gracing our screens.
Currently at the ripe old age of four, the little ones are set to celebrate their fifth birthday come October, reports the Express.
These munchkins have seen a roster of young stars stepping into their shoes over time; Charlotte and James Holt initially stepped into the limelight alongside trio Arthur, Lily and Lucy Taylor. Little Aled has been brought to life by Harry and Harvey Thompson.
The role of Aled who came out into the world deaf was handed over to Joseph Woods in 2021.
Viewers couldn’t help but flick onto X ye olde Twitter to spill out their bewilderment about how quick the quads aged, with one stunned fan posting: “How are the quads school age already? Where did the last four years go?”
Whilst another piped up: “I’d forgotten the quads existed tbh! Where did they go?” And a third admirer gushed: “Aww the quads look so cute!” Adding to the banter, someone quipped: “The quads having their annual sighting on their first day at school.” One fan gushed: “It’s the quads’ first day of primary school!”
The adorable twins, who made their entrance into the world in Llandudno, were given Welsh names as a nod to their dramatic arrival, with mum Gemma giving birth in a cable car.
Little Aled got his moniker from crooner Aled Jones, and the other bubs were named after the heroic paramedics who delivered them.
In tear-jerking telly moments, Paul pleaded with Billy: “Going to miss them kids. Don’t let them forget me. Please?” To which Billy solemnly vowed: “I won’t.”
