Adam Peaty’s ex Eiri breaks her silence following his engagement to Holly Ramsay

Adam Peaty’s ex Eirianedd Munro has spoken out following the former Strictly star’s engagement to Holly Ramsay.

The couple, who went public with their relationship last June, announced their joyous news on Thursday (September 12). Adam and Eiri, who share a three-year-old son named George, dated between 2019 and 2022.

One year after their split, the Olympic swimmer began dating Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Holly. Eiri has now shared her support for the happy couple and admitted she “couldn’t wish for a better stepmother” for her son.

Speaking to MailOnline, she gushed: “I’d like to take the opportunity to say how wonderful Holly is. She is nothing but a positive presence in our lives.

“She is so gentle and kind, I couldn’t wish for a better stepmother for my son. We’re so lad about the news and are wishing them the best.”

The happy couple met through Holly’s sister, Tilly, when she competed on Strictly Come Dancing on the same year as Adam. Holly and Adam took to Instagram to announce their relationship milestone online.

Alongside a series of loved-up snap, Holly showcased her enormous diamond ring. The brunette beauty captioned the post: “”I am marrying my best friend.

“I truly cannot put into words how I am feeling right now. I still remember how big my smile was the morning I got home from my first date with you.

“Thank you for letting the little girl inside of me feel loved, seen and happier than ever. I love you & I cannot wait to be your wife.”

“I promise to always be there with you and George, I’m so grateful to be in his life and I cannot wait for more.” Meanwhile Adam shared his own post and wrote: “I can’t believe you’re going to be my wife.

“I’m truly the luckiest man on earth to have such a gentle, caring and beautiful woman by my side. You fill my heart to the brim and give my soul peace.”

It is understood Gordon gave the gold medallist his approval to marry his daughter last month. Adam met Eiri in 2019 while training at Loughborough University, where she was also studying at the time.

The pair welcomed their son the following year, but rumours of strain in their romance began to circulate during Adam’s appearance on the BBC One dance competition in 2021. In August 2022, Adam announced their split.

Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “Eiri and I have decided to go our separate ways. We have enjoyed a wonderful three years together, 2 of those with our gorgeous son George.

“Our priority has always been to provide the happiest and healthiest home environment for him, and right now that means ending our romantic relationship. I could not ask for a greater mother for George and I am so grateful to Eiri for her amazing support over the last three years.

“Eiri and George, I’m sorry for letting you down. My only interest is for the wellbeing of our family at this difficult time so I ask that our privacy is respected and I won’t be saying anything further.”
