Baywatch babe says she is her ‘own Hugh Hefner’ as adult career supports family

A former Baywatch babe has said she is grateful to her adult career for helping her family.

Brande Roderick has been opening up on her experience of making adult films online, saying the side hustle has been able to help her pay her bills. She added that it has been a “wonderful outlet” for her creatively as well.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Brande – now aged 50 – said that using platforms to create adult content has been “great” for her financial situation. She explained: “Me being a single mom of two boys with no financial support from their father, I have to take care of my family.

“And for me, my passion and love is acting and producing,” she continued. “So, in order for me to do that, I have, you know, my side job with OnlyFans, which helps to facilitate my other passion of acting and producing; so, for me, it’s been really a wonderful outlet for me.”

Explaining her content on the platform, which requires payment to watch, Brande described her work as similar to what she did when modelling for Playboy magazine. She insisted that there is no full-frontal nudity in her work, but she does leave some things out in the open.

“I do beautiful art photos like I did when I was in Playboy,” she said. “I don’t show any nudity down below, that’s the only difference, but I do try to make them very artistic and very beautiful and very meaningful.”

She also said that a benefit of doing adult content means that she is the one in control of what she wants to put out. Looking back on her stint, she quipped: “It’s like I’m my own Hugh Hefner, I guess.”

Brande praised her subscribers and fans for their dignity and respect as she shared her snaps and clips on the platform. She added that she has been treated with kindness by her fans, whom she described as “really sweet, kind people”, adding that she receives no bizarre requests from more awkward clients.

Other ex-Baywatch stars have also spoken about their side hustles on paywalled-content pages. Good pal of Brande and Baywatch co-star Carmen Electra also admitted that she is regularly asked by fans for strange pictures to keep them subscribed.

Quipping about the oddities of the job, Carmen joked: “It’s funny to me because I get a lot of requests for my feet, and it cracks me up. People want to see feet.”

Brande shot to fame when she took on the role of Leigh Dyer on the beachside drama, an experience she described as being “one of the best times” of her life. Filming the show in Hawaii, she continues to look at her time in the iconic programme fondly, adding that she grew a “little family” with her co-stars.

She first appeared on screens in 2000, and stayed in the show for just one year, before leaving in 2001. She starred alongside other well-known faces including Jason Momoa, who would go on to clinch a starring role in Hollywood as Aquaman.
