Jon Richardson has reportedly forked out a hefty sum to his ex-wife Lucy Beaumont following their split.

The comedic duo shocked fans when they ended their nine-year marriage in April. The pair had fans in stitches with their mockumentary show Meet The Richardson’s and recent stint on Celebrity Gogglebox.

Now, it’s been revealed that Jon has handed over a staggering £1.625million to Lucy following their divorce. The couple had built up a fortune of £6million over the years.

Just two months after calling it quits, Jon paid Lucy for her stake in the business where they were both directors.. The 41-year-old comedian also had to cough up an additional £8,125 in stamp duty to HMRC after buying Lucy’s share in This Guy at Night Limited.

It is understood the business is still worth a total of £4million according to documents filed at Companies House, reports the Mirror. Despite their separation, the pair, who are still joint owners of two sprawling properties.

They share a £1 million detached house in Yorkshire complete with a swimming pool and a plush flat in North London worth £1 million. The former lovebirds, who tied the knot in a dreamy April 2015 ceremony and share a daughter together, have always seemed the picture of happiness.

But shockingly, just as their fifth series of ‘Meet The Richardsons’ hit the screens this April, they dropped the bombshell that they’ve splitIn a heartfelt statement, the pair said: “After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated.

“We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways. As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy is respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being. We will be making no further comment.”

Lucy and Jon’s love story began over a decade ago after being introduced by mutual pal Roisin Conaty. And it wasn’t long before sparks flew into a full-blown romance.

In an ironic twist, mere weeks before their separation news, Lucy opened up about the challenges of working with her hubby. Despite claiming they “make a good team” in an interview with OK! magazine, she admitted there was a downside.

She told the outlet: “It’s a great working environment because it feels like a big group of friends. It’s a shame that you can’t see the crew off camera because most of them have worked on the show from the beginning. It’s like a holiday for them.”
