The Gavin and Stacey cast have been seen filming the highly anticipated wedding scenes.
Matthew Horne, Julia Davis, Joanna Page, Alison Steadman, Melanie Walters, Robert Wilfort and Steffan Rhodri reunited to shoot the final ever episode set to air this Christmas. Loyal fans of the BBC sitcom will remember that the 2019 episode ended on quite the cliffhanger when Nessa got down on one knee for her boyfriend Smithy.
And it appears as though fan’s dreams have been answered as the cast dressed up in their finery to film what appears to be Smithy and Nessa’s nuptials 17 years after the first episode hit the airwaves. Filming for the festive special is in full swing, with James Corden pictured making his way to the church through the stunning Welsh countryside on Wednesday (September 19).

But in a humorous twist of fate – fitting of one of the sitcom’s wild antics – the wedding appears to have hit an unexpected blunder. The cast were snapped travelling through farmland in Dave’s famous coach when they suddenly became stuck in the mud.
Onlookers watched as the party was towed out of a field, adding some real-life comedy to the day’s events. Fans will have to tune in for the last ever episode to find out if the comical blunder will make it in the final edit.
