In his latest post, the actor shared a dramatic before and after picture of him at his heaviest around 500lbs compared to his trim physique now. In the first snap, the actor can be seen wearing a black jacket which he layered over a black jumper and a pair of sunglasses.
In the other snap, the star stripped down to just his boxer shorts as he showed off his washboard stomach and bulging biceps in his home gym. The star has also grown his facial hair out into a thick dark beard, and now boasts intricate tattoos on his arms.
Looking back on his transformation, he penned: “I am aware of change as much as I am aware of the sun rising and setting.
“What shapes how we change? Is it some divine force, our environment, the chemistry within the meat sacks we used to navigate this portal plane? ‘The only constant in life is change’ – Heraclitus.
“Change is guaranteed, whether active or passive is up to me.” The inspirational message hit home for some fans, who rushed to comment on the post.
One user penned: “You are an inspiration brother and I’m working on my own journey now so thank you so much for the push I needed.” Another agreed: “Looking amazing, well done!”
A third echoed: “Good s**t Randy. Turned into a beast [muscle emoji, fire emoji].” The star previously explained that when he started his life overhaul, he was so heavy normal scales couldn’t weigh him, and he had to use a freight scale instead.
At his heaviest, Ethan suffered from congestive heart failure and ate “enough food to feed a small family.” But now Ethan has worked on overcoming his food addiction and turned his life around.
Dad-of-four Ethan said his weight loss journey finally clicked into place when he started counting calories and eating nutritious foods. Some of his go-to meals included dark leafy greens, chicken and salmon.
He explained to Men’s Health: “As I became more calorie conscious, I started to binge less and fill up on healthier foods. After a few months of this, calories stopped being calories. They started being food.”
