Big Brother star Makosi Musambasi unrecognisable after being deported from UK

Big Brother fan-favourite Makosi Musambasi looks completely different from her days on the reality television show almost a decade ago.

Makosi originally worked as a nurse when she appeared on the show in 2005. Hailing from High Wycombe, she took a sabbatical to make her grand appearance.

However, after finding fame she left the UK in search of a life in the sun and now resides in Dubai. She gave an insight into her new life – and it looks perfect.

She even has her own lifestyle and current affairs show which airs in Nigeria called Makosi Today. Makosi, the Zimbabwean model who was the first African participant on the show, has come a long way since being on the reality show.

Her life hasn’t been plain sailing. Makosi was deported from the UK in 2012. The former nurse, who hails from Zimbabwe, had been living in the UK on a visa which allowed her to stay as long as she worked for the NHS.

While the company gave her a sabbatical, when her bosses found out she was using it to appear on a television show, they made her choose between Big Brother and her job. She chose Big Brother, but with it she was served with the curtailment papers giving her 10 days to leave the country or appeal against the decision.

“I feel very betrayed. I’ve entertained the nation for three months and then you come after me,” she said at the time. “Go into any hospital. The amount of cleaners that probably have the wrong immigration status, but because they are doing the dirtiest job that nobody wants to do, they will not make an example of that person.”

She applied for asylum and ended up being granted the right to stay under refugee status. However, that changed in 2012 when she was caught out using a relative’s passport after travelling from Nigeria.

On the show she made it to third place losing the top spot to Anthony Hutton who she famously got frisky with in the hot tub. Many will remember the hot and heavy TV moment which ended up with her asking for a pregnancy test – although some years later, she admitted it was all part of her game plan.

After her breast cancer diagnosis in 2017, the star said she lost her hair and confidence. However, she carved a life for herself full of money and luxury.
