Liam Gallagher’s gig at Wembley Arena for the Anthony Joshua bout has been slated by fans.
Devotees of the Oasis legend, who’s gearing up for a 2025 reunion tour with brother Noel Gallagher after a 15-year hiatus, hit Twitter/X to question if he still had the voice needed. A tweet that went viral threw shade at the frontman, reading: “Oasis selling tickets” before revealing “Liam Gallagher can’t sing”.
The post sparked fury among fans of the 52-year-old, despite many revelling in his Wembley set last night. The ‘Wonderwall’ singer belted out three tunes pre-fight.

Some fans showed sympathy, with one tweeting: “I wish people would realise that he’s been touring all year and has sounded incredible for 99.9% of it. He has one more gig and then nothing until next summer, this is NOT representative of what he’ll sound like when the time comes.”
Another stood by the star, chiming in: “Aye but he’s the one with the incredible band and not you so he’s doing something right plus his voice is great what do you expect if he’s been on the road all year.” Yet, not everyone was sold on Gallagher’s performance, as one critic tweeted they’ve “never been able to sing”.

One critic was less than impressed with Gallagher’s vocal chops, quipping: “We call it nasal speeching in our house. Never could get though a whole album at once, probably still can’t. [SIC]” Meanwhile, musician Geordie Greep threw shade with the question: “What does Liam Gallagher need 3 guitarists for?”
Others took a trip down memory lane to figure out when exactly Gallagher’s voice might have taken a hit, with one fan pointing out: “Why are people acting like they were unaware Liam’s voice had gone? It was gone when Oasis were finishing and it didn’t come back when he did his own stuff.”
Yet some fans came to his defence, rationalising that “he’s just older now and of course his voice sounds different”.
