Strictly Jamie Borthwick’s bizarre three words to BBC pro exposed by hidden mics

Strictly fans have been left baffled by what Jamie Borthwick said to his dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas.

Fans of the BBC show love hearing the conversations between the celebs and their dance partners while they’re shaking their hips on the ballroom floor. Strictly’s hidden mics pick up the telling exchanges that you don’t hear on TV.

They usually offer a closer insight into the dynamic of each Strictly couple, or what’s going through their heads when they’re performing their routines. But it was a little surprising to hear what Jamie and Nancy were talking about during their dancefloor debut on Saturday (September 21).

The EastEnders star appeared to admit he smelled of garlic as he span Michelle around during their stunning Viennese Waltz to Benson Boon’s track Beautiful Things. He said “smell of garlic”, which may have been an inside joke between the pair or a tactic to remember his routine.

Fans were baffled by Jamie’s clip and couldn’t help laughing as they rushed to the comments. “Smell of garlic?!”, wrote one with a laughing emoji.

Michelle herself was in stitches as she tagged Jamie in the comments with a series of laughing emojis. The Strictly account replied with a garlic emoji.

Jamie recently hit back at claims he and Michelle could fall victim to the so-called Strictly curse after fans got excited by their on-screen chemistry. He told the Mirror: “The idea of that whole Strictly curse, well it’s definitely not going to be a thing here because it would be weird doing that with my sister.

“Michelle and I met before Strictly and we instantly had a connection. But she is like a sister, an aunt, a mum, a best friend. She’s looking after me, she’s mothering me.”

He also admitted he was in awe of Michelle’s boyfriend Simone Arena, who is a Dancing with the Stars champion. “Her boyfriend doesn’t know it yet because we’ve never met, but he’s my rock already. I’ve been looking him up, watching him dance on his shows and I’m like, “Mate, you’re my icon”. He’s an absolutely fantastic dancer.”
