MAFS UK star says one part of show should be ‘illegal’ as dinner parties dissected

Married at First Sight’s Tasha Jay has said one part of the show be illegal – the heels!

Tasha was one of the brides on the last series of the E4 show, where she was matched with husband Paul Liba. With the new series under way, she appeared on the Not My Bagg podcast with fellow 2023 bride Laura Vaughan to share some show secrets and weigh in on all the action.

As the pair dissected the show’s famous dinner parties, Tasha revealed the brides are all glammed up for it from early in the morning and joked that tottering around in high heels shouldn’t be allowed at that time of day.

The pair were quizzed about the get togethers and Laura revealed: “So it’s called a dinner party, so you think that it would be filmed at night right? It goes on that late but you start at like 10 in the morning!”

“Yeah we were getting up at 7 and 8 in the morning to get ready,” said Tasha. “Heels on at 7am – illegal!”

“Do you know what the most jarring thing about those things are?” said Laura, who was paired up with husband Arthur Poremba in the series. She explained that it could be a bit tense waiting to enter the room for the dinner parties, which are often on the explosive side.

“You stand outside the double doors and then you walk through as a couple, or when Arthur cared to turn up, he was quite absent quite a lot, so you are usually stood there as a couple and you can hear everyone else in there and you are like, whoever you had a falling out with that week, you are damn sure they are going to be the only couple in there.”

“You don’t know what’s being said,” she added.

The pair also told how the honeymoons turn into a guessing game, with everyone focused on trying to work out which brides have been matched with which grooms.

“Can I just say, I got nearly everyone right!” said Tasha, who is still with her MAFS husband. “Me and Paul sat there and did it.”

“That was the best conversation that Arthur and I had,” laughed Laura, who ended things with her hubby during the final vow ceremony.
