Nick Knowles makes final decision on Strictly Come Dancing fate after injury

Nick Knowles has been given the all-clear by doctors to hit the Strictly dance floor this Saturday night.

The 62 year old had been anxiously waiting for medical approval to perform with his partner Luba Mushtuk after injuring his shoulder.

However, insiders confirmed yesterday that he was given the go-ahead, reports the Mirror.

Despite his injury, which required him to wear a sling this week, sources revealed that Nick will even attempt a lift during his routine. An insider shared: “Nick and Luba’s attitude is very much that the show must go on, and they were thrilled when he was given the go ahead. They are even going to attempt a lift.”

“Luba has reassured Nick that the move she planned for their routine can be made safe for him – so as it stands they are still going to perform that. Nick is fully committed because the last thing he wants is the sympathy vote.”

“Now that he’s been given the green light to perform this week, he is determined to come out all guns blazing and give the routine everything he’s got. He and Luba are now rehearsing at Elstree to help them makeup for the time they lost this week.”

Last week, viewers saw Nick, donned in a sparkly high vis vest, performing a jive with Luba. His energetic performance earned him praise from the judges.

However, his second performance was put at risk after he injured his shoulder while changing a tyre on his Range Rover.

The source added: “Nick was really irritated to have injured himself so soon in the competition – especially doing something he could have avoided. It was a huge sigh of relief for him when the doctors said he could dance. Now it’s a race against time to get the routine as good as it can be by Saturday.”

On Saturday night, fans will see Nick strut his stuff with an American smooth to Blur’s Parklife. As things stand, DIY SOS star Knowles and partner Luba Mushtuk aren’t flying high, sitting third from the bottom on the leaderboard with 18 points from their jive to We Built This City by Starship.
