David Beckham has benched best pal Gary Neville from his new TV venture for not being famous enough.

Goldenballs will hang out with A list stars while they watch and commentate on football games in new US series Beckham and Friends for CBS Sports.

However, Becks made it clear that his Sky Sports host pal Nev is not “A list” enough for an invite.

He made the announcement during CBS’ Champions League coverage alongside Mikah Richards, Jamie Carragher and Thierry Henry.

Asked about how high the bar is for the talent on his show, he replied: “The bar’s quite high.”

Carragher added: “So there’s no Gary Neville?” Becks replied: “No.”

The ex England skipper added that his very famous pals from Hollywood will join him.

“There’s a couple of people lined up already.”

Carragher said he would be better suited taking Neville to less glamorous fixtures in campaigns like the EFL Cup.

Becks admitted: “Yeah. I might struggle to be fair, I might have to take Gaz to that one.“
