Electro-pop star has best reaction to fan handing her white powder in Ibiza

Electro-pop legend Róisín Murphy had a hilarious response to being handed an little bag of white powder during a gig.

The Irish songstress, who rose to glory in the 90s with pop duo Moloko, later hit big-time solo status, with her album ‘Ruby Blue’ earning rave reviews back in 2005.

She’s currently touring with her lauded album Hit Parade, released just last year, and has waxed lyrical about creating a “live music experience with exceptional lighting and visual elements” alongside her “brilliant band”.

Recently, Róisín took to social media to share a video from her electric performance at the iconic Flower Power soiree at Pacha in Ibiza. In the footage, which was nabbed by an audience member, the vibrant performer can be seen getting down close and personal with the crowd when she gets passed a mysterious little bag of white powder.

She momentarily accepted the “gift” before cottoning on to what it was and swiftly returning the goodie bag to the fan while cracking up. Given a second shot at holding onto the powder packet, she simply shook her head “no”, maintaining her wit about the situation.

Posting the video clip to her feed, Róisín quipped: “Sorry guys but I cannot [accept] random little white packets while I’m performing! [laughing, crying and smiling emojis]. It’s the thought that counts though.”

Fans were buzzing in the comments after the post tickled their funny bones. They didn’t hold back, with one fan sharing a flurry of crying laughing emojis and writing: “Róisín is lovingly correct, please don’t try to hand her anything.”

Another mused: “Haha. The real power behind Flower power,” while a third shared: “Always amazes me when I see this at gigs. One venue made me unroll a roll of dog poo bags to make sure there was nothing in them, I was mortified. Gig starts and people are chucking joints up at the musician.”

Someone else joked: “I’m sure it was sherbet from a Sherbet Dib dab,” and another chirped in: “Hehe I’m past that now! Your music is all I need.”

A simple “Hilarious!” came from one fan, and another claimed: “This is the greatest post on this site.”

“Perks of being a celeb”, said one fan, as the rest simply commented with crying laughing emojis.

Róisín Murphy’s set to serenade her fans across the USA and Canada right through until 9 November 2024 before she heads Down Under for the Aussie chapter of her tour.
