The Duchess of York is eyeing a cameo on the iconic soap Coronation Street after having a ball pulling pints at the Rovers Return.
During her visit to the ITV Studios in Media City, Salford Quays, on Wednesdaywhich followed a trip round Prevent Breast Cancer’s headquarters in Wythenshawe alongside Sally Dynevorshe couldn’t resist trying to charm her way onto the show.
Upon meeting the big bosses including executive producer Iain MacLeod, assistant producer Verity MacLeod, and director of production Matt Cleary, she cheekily remarked: “I’ve got to bamboozle you three to allow me to do a cameo.”

The former royal, who once graced the screen with a giggle-worthy turn on US sitcom Friends back in 1998, was eager to showcase her acting chops as she commandeered the Rovers bar to pull a pint of fictional ale Newton and Ridley.
Guided by Corrie stars Julia Goulding, Paddy Beaver, and Jacob Robertsbetter known as their Weatherfield alter egos, the duchess poured herself a frothy one, though the trio playfully recommended she hold off tasting her handiwork.
Never missing a beat, Sarah even nipped into true northern spirit, borrowing a local twang to quip at Dynevor, “What will you have, lass? “.
Both the duchess and Dynevor, who became pals during Loose Women and now serve together as patrons for the cancer charity, honoured the late Queen, fondly recalling her tour of the Corrie set for its 60th-anniversary celebrations.
Touchingly, Sarah proposed, “We ought to drink a pint to my wonderful mother-in-law. She really loved her time here.”
After a natter with Dynevor, the Duchess, who once was hitched to Prince Andrew, sounded the last orders bell at the pub, a setting for upcoming festive flickers on our screens.
She took a stride down the iconic street and had a meet-up with Sam Aston while he was in the midst of shooting as Chesney Winter-Brown.
Her Royal Highness remarked: “Coming on the cobbles is quite a huge moment.”
As her visit wrapped up, Mr MacLeod pledged to brainstorm a special guest spot for her and quipped: “The pint was excellent by the way, considering it was the first one.”
