BBC and Soccer Aid star charged with rape over allegations he ‘attacked and strangled’ woman

YouTuber and rapper Yung Filly has been arrested over the alleged rape of a woman.

The British internet personality has presented BBC shows, appeared on the celebrity edition of Bake Off and taken part in Soccer Aid. He was arrested in Brisbane, Australia on Tuesday (October 8) and sent to Perth.

The 29-year-old has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s at his Perth hotel on September 28. He has been charged with four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault and one count of impeding a person’s breathing by applying pressure on or to the neck.

Yung Filly, real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is accused of sexually assaulting the woman after one of his performances at Bar1 Nightclub in Hillarys, Perth. He appeared at Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday, where his application for bail was adjourned.

The comedian shot to fame as a part of the popular YouTube group Beta Squad and has worked with the Sidemen, KSI’s internet collective. He has hosted BBC Three shows Hot Property, Don’t Scream and Yung Filly’s Celeb Lock-In.

He has also appeared on Channel 4’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer and appeared on Soccer Aid in 2020. Filly remains in custody and had performed at the Havana Nightclub on the Gold Coast two days prior to his arrest.

The event at Bar1, where Mr Barrientos performed before the alleged assault, marketed the UK rapper’s performance as the ultimate evening escapade. “The event promises to be a seamless blend of spontaneity, humour and music that’ll have you talking for weeks!”, MoshTix said.

Filly recently collaborated with fellow British rapper Aitch on the song Grey, which has racked up over 2.5million views on YouTube and 10 million streams on Spotify. Daily Star has contacted Yung Filly’s representatives for comment.
